How do you stand out? How do you turn a message into something that’s going to grab the attention of your audience? The trick is to come up with different ideas. If you’re taking the same old language, moving a few words around, and mailing it out, you’re probably wasting time and money? It’s hard to be creative. We all want new ideas and new techniques that will get the attention of our audience. Here are some good ideas for you to use when you create your next mailing.
1. Talk to your customers. It may take a little time, but when you call your customers and have a short conversation with them about why they use your services or products, you’ll probably get some unexpected answers. If prospective customers can “see” themselves through the eyes of your present customers, the sale is easy.
2. Examine your data. Which mailings worked best? What time of the year was the mailing sent? Was there something different about how the mailing was packaged? Did you have something on the envelope? Take the time to examine the data you collect and chances are, you’ll come up with a few new ideas.
3. Make a list of your 10 best customers. What do they have in common? Look at those characteristics and find prospects that fall in the same category.
4. Look at your competitors. Most companies are pretty sure they know what their competitors are doing. But when was the last time you really looked at them? Check out the websites of your competitors and look them up on LinkedIn. Taking the time to do a little research often turns up a few ideas that you can use.
Instead of tired mailings that don’t get noticed, following the steps above will help your mailings get attention. Need help with pricing? Give us a call at 718-238-2919 for more information.
